Government Meetings Scrutinized - Opening Keynote

An article in Smart Meetings states "if you're a government meeting planner" or supplier, "it may feel like a perpetual minefield" when navigating "regulations and ethics standards," and ensuring that "all arrangements are above reproach."  Highlights:

             * Government meetings in U.S. — federal, state, local — face scrutiny from the public and oversight by committees, and even post-event punishment for poor judgment

             * Agencies should employ alternatives to government travel such as teleconferencing or videoconferencing, and to host meetings in government facilities, wherever practical.
